We will not fill any gaps for you.

A template is an exact replica of the required worktops dimensions and cut-outs. Taking all accurate measurements of the kitchen units and cut outs for hobs and sinks, all the shaping and overhang required. This is then used to manufacture the worktops ensuring a precise and accurate cutting of the worktop for a perfect work surface installation. Beware of some companies who claim they do not need to template before fitting, and cut on site using mobile equipment on the installation day. Using hand held grinders and polishers in your kitchen or living room can often resort in having to chisel the walls and needing to scribe the back of the granite edge to install the work surface. Resulting in very poor quality work surfaces plus a lot of dust, mess and noise. Any top quality stone worktop when finished to the highest standard requires accurate templating before installation. Our cutting and polishing is carried out on the latest precision machinery in our dedicated and bespoke manufacturing facility, ensuring a perfect fit and a superior finish.

Before the survey you need to ensure all cabinets are level, have sufficient braces and are secured firmly to the wall. Make sure you know the final location of sinks, hobs, taps or any other fittings required and have these available on site. Please ensure after the survey cabinets are not moved as the measurements taken during the survey are crucial for a perfect worktop installation. Any changes after the survey can cause significant delays and incur extra charges.

We always recommend all existing worktops are removed prior to template, this ensures complete accuracy moving forward. In some circumstances we may be able to template over the existing surfaces. Our sales team will be able to advise you. Please note when we return to install the new worktops the existing worktops need to have been removed, also sinks, taps and hobs should be disconnected.

No, this needs to be done before templating. Tiling should be done after the worktops have been installed.

Yes, you need to be on-site to confirm cut out position, overhang and joint positions, also to answer any questions we might have. The same goes for installation, so that you can confirm that you are happy with the finished product.
